Yesterday’s live performance of Vaka and subsequently Samskeyti with the London Contemporary Orchestra was beyond words. Very greatful to have witnessed the best performance I have been to, and ever will be. Thank you all!

    All
Sigur RÓS concerts are magical experiences, and this was no exception. After listening to the new album the evening before, I could barely believe that I would listen to live performances the next day. The new single Blóðberg brought me to tears the first time I listened to it on YouTube and the same happened live. It is such a moving, emotional piece that it has already become one of my top favorite Sigur Rós songs. Skel and Ylur are also great new songs. But also the performances of the old songs in new orchestral arrangements were amazing.

During the concert I often thought that it was such a unique experience that I wanted to somehow keep it with me. I made lots of photographs, but they of course only capture a very minor part. I guess it’s like all moments of true happiness: they form a beautiful memory that we cherish over and over again until the next one arrives. Sigur Rós concerts form important components of my life’s chain of happy moments. I feel blessed that I was able to experience this unique concert. Takk fyrir!!

I enjoyed the entire evening, which reached its pinnacle with a truly spectacular ending featuring Sé Lest and Hoppípolla. Sé Lest has held a special place in my heart since my very first concert in 2008 (Lowlands), and hearing it once more was an absolute delight. Another standout moment for me was the performance of Starálfur.

My 4th SR concert and first with a full orchestra. Shows a whole other side of the band – less loud, aggressive and gut-wrenching, but more serene, majestic and fragile. Absolutely wild set list with some songs I’d never have dreamed of seeing performed live before (Sé Lest, Starálfur,…). Definitely cried a few times because it sounded absolutely beautiful with all the strings and trumpets etc. Will never forget this night, in a more than memorable setting as well.

One of the most amazing experiences of my life. My 8 year old daughter came with me and said it made her feel so alive and emotional. We absolutely loved and it and feel very fortunate to have been able to get tickets. So magical. Thank you!!!

I stopped counting, but definately the first one with an orchestra. Quiet a special experience. Good to hear the old songs in a different approach. And lovely to hear some new songs.
I missed the noise eruptions somehow but nevertheless i had a great time.
See you in the next one.

Thank you Sigur Ros for an incredible night. I’ve seen you five times in my life (Olympia Theatre, Dublin – 2005; 3Arena, Dublin – 2013, 2022; RHK, Dublin, 2016; last night in Amsterdam!) and have loved each and every gig. Last night was like the Olympia gig in its intimacy and the venue. TBH, I couldn’t believe I was lucky enough to get a ticket for such a show and will forever remember it. You are so special and your music has been a companion for over two decades now. The new album is great. Mór is fantastic. Hope to see you again at some stage in the future. xx

It was absolutely fantastic! Saw them for the first time in Tilburg in 2005 when ‘Takk..’ came out. Was completely overwhelmed, which lasted for days. Second time was at Best Kept Secret, which had a similar impact on me. So a was overjoyed to get two of the last tickets for the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Together with my wife Anneke – fan of classical music – we had a wonderfull time. Sé Lest, on of my all time favourites, almost made me cry. Same with Andvari. The LCO were great also! The roar and applause of the packed Concertgebouw at the end of the concert, and the whole atmosphere of the many people gathered to witness the miracle that is Sigur Ros, gave me goosebumps. My wife was very much impressed by the LCO and especially the guy who played so many instrument (piano, xylophone, etc).
Takk a million times. Will never forget this.

My second SR concert within one year! Most likely the most beautiful concert experience I’ve ever had. This is the music of angels! Thank you!

I’ve been lucky enough to see Sigur Rós many times across Europe (Belgium, France, Portugal, Germany, England, Luxembourg). This concert in Amsterdam with the orchestra was by far the best I’ve ever seen. Pure emotion, sublime melodies, a band offering us songs we never thought we’d hear live again, a mix of gentleness and power… Thank you Jónsi, Georg, Kjartan and all the members of the orchestra for an evening I’ll never forget!

I knew it after the very first notes had sounded: the Sigur Rós concert in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw will be one of the most special evenings of my life. The concert can only be described as the closest approximation to absolute perfection, in music and image. Jonsi’s voice is out of this world, so stunningly beautiful. The music of Sigur Rós has always meant a lot to me, but this live concert has given me something extra: an experience which will stay with me for the rest of my life. The London Contemporary Orchestra was brilliant. During the concert I cried, felt high, felt happy and yes, I also had an ominous feeling every now and then, which I think is one of the important messages of the phenomenal album Ákka. The sad thing is that I know that this is the most beautiful, most enchanting concert I will ever hear. The good thing is that I now feel that when the world has people in it who can make such beautiful things, perhaps everything will be okay one day. Thank you Sigur Rós. Love you Sigur Rós.

Experiencing Sigur Rós is like watching an abstract painting, we will see different things in it and you will look at in differently depending on your current state of being. For me, seeing them with London Contemporary Orchestra was like entering another world. It was so magical and powerful, and being asked not to take photos or record videos really helped me to be fully immersed in the experience. It’s probably the most beautiful concert I’ve ever seen and I was brought to tears so many times. Loved to hear old songs that I’ve never experienced live before (Se Lést was really a fun and amazing highlight). And I loved to hear the new ones as well (Jónsis voice is so angelic, and in Skel it was so beautiful it hurt). It was all so moving and emotional. Takk Sigur Rós.
