I first saw you the winter of 2005-2006. My friend and I drove 8 hours in a snow storm to Lexington Kentucky. I dated a man from Iceland that year in college and he was the one that introduced me to your music. My life changed forever.
Today in DC was spectacular and everything I remembered. I cried more during your set than any other performance…and I have been to hundreds of concerts. Tonight was a healing moment of past memories and current things I am going through. Thank you for your art.

    Don’t ever change.

Beautiful evening of beautiful music. Thank you! Literally had chills throughout the swells of Starálfur. Thank you!

Are there any plans to change the setlist that is identical to last year’s tour. If not for the US are you planning something different for the Reykjavik shows? Trying to decide whether to attend or dump the iceland tickets…

I was introduced to Sigur Ros by an old love.
Little I knew when I first started listening to them that they were going to be with me in the hardest moments.

I saw them for the very first time last year in New York, and it was a warm hug to my heart and soul.

Tonight, Jonsi gave me the opportunity to sing, cry and see how far I’ve come since last year. I couldn’t hold my tears with “Skel”…

There is that magic voice, magic and powerful music, that makes me feel alive again!

    Thank you Sigur Ros.

It’s 2008, I’m getting ready for school and I see a commercial for a video game, but there was a song that stopped me. It was in my head all day after returning home. I immediately went to YouTube to search for the commercial. It was then I found Sæglópur.

Tonight felt magical and it was like I gave my teenage self in 2008 a hug saying thank you for stopping at the TV before heading out to school. The music tonight was beautiful and I have never experienced so many emotions with those around me. It’s happiness, it’s a couple leaning on one another, it’s someone raising their hands in awe, it’s someone crying tears of joy. I’m forever grateful and can’t thank you enough for creating such an amazing experience.

In 2009 my life changed after watching Heima for the first time. I was immediately enthralled into the music as Glósóli played, the beauty that is Iceland, and everything that comes with her. Since then, your music has led me down a path that was for the better, and I am an entirely different person than I was before I knew your music. I’ve waited over 15 years to finally attend one of your shows, and even though you were so far away physically on stage, the tsunami of emotions hit me wave after wave and I could feel every soothing drop down to my bones. It’s been such a healing journey. Who knew something so small could change so much. Takk fyrir Georg, Kjartan, og Jónsi…ég elska þig svo mikið.

The year was 2008 or 2009, one of my high school best friends met a new friend, B, at his internship. B went to another high school and was super cute and cool. B was into music no one else had heard of and when he played Hoppípolla by Sigur Rós… woah. I couldn’t understand the lyrics but I felt so many emotions, from the beginning piano riff to the swelling build up with other instruments to the words. I initially felt a bit sad, a longing for years past or youth, but by the end of the song I’m filled with hope and tears in my eyes. The music video is also an absolute gem, the cutest thing I had ever seen and the perfect accompaniment to the song. Hands down one of my favourite songs for all time.

Over the years, your songs and albums have provided the soundtrack to countless study sessions, walks, rides on public transport, and restless nights. Last night, was a wonderfully magical experience. It was my first time seeing you perform live and to witness your songs live, with an orchestra, was such an unbelievable treat for my soul. Truly beautiful. Takk fyrir!

    Forever hopping into puddles <3

Thank you so much for the gift of this concert. Your music has carried me through some difficult times, and it was one of the most emotionally meaningful experiences of my life to hear you live. Thank you for sharing yourselves and your music with the world. I’m glad that you exist.

Watched you guys in DC. My 5th time seeing you live and you are my absolute fave band EVER. I even wrote a blog ages ago when I saw you guys for the first time — http://sudhakaniki.blogspot.com/2013/03/sigur-ros.html?m=1
Wanted to ask you to play Ágætis byrjun on your tour next time. I would absolutely love to hear that one and other songs from it.
You were beyond sublime in DC. Thanks for the spectacularly uplifting show in DC. Can’t wait to see you again.
