the icelandic film ‘síðasti bærinn í dalnum’ (the last farm in the valley), which was scored by kjartan, has made the academy award shortlist of the ten short documentaries up for nomination. the official nominations will be announced on january 31st. the film is directed by rúnar rúnarsson and is about an aged farmer and his wife who live in the last remaining farm in an icelandic valley. you can listen to a song from kjartan’s soundtrack on the media page.
