odins raven in iceland

hilmar örn hilmarsson has been kind enough to let us in on a few details regarding the upcoming óðin’s raven magic concert in reykjavík. apparently the concert at the barbican was a sort of warm-up for the concert in reykjavík, which will be more polished and better rehearsed. there will be some changes in the line-up this time around: another percussionist and horn player will be added, in addition to two extra stone marimba players. hilmar has also told us that the piece will take a more rhythmic form and that there will be more input from sigur rós this time; more work will be put into the climatic end of the piece and jónsi is expected to be doing more vocals. there are still some tickets left to this concert, which takes place may 24th as part of the reykjavík arts festival. you can order tickets on artfest.is. those who still haven’t haven’t downloaded the mp3’s from the concert at the barbican last month can do so here.
