just a reminder that sigur rós play the v2002 festival this weekend in chelmsford (saturday) and stafford (sunday). we’ll be covering the stafford show, so expect a review and photos sometime next week. if anyone can help out with reviews or photos from chelmsford then please email them to me. the visionary nme magazine has a brief mention of sigur rós’ impending v2002 shows in this weeks edition:
“5pm – return to the nme stage to try to fathom how sigur rós are so popular in america. perhaps it’s because their willo’-the-wisp icelandic guitar drizzle is the sound of an acne-ravaged skate-dweeb from cousinfelch, idaho whining ‘i hate my mowm!’, only slowed down to 0.eeeeeebpm.”
hmm. makes you wonder why they’re playing on the nme stage really.
