sigur ros have been playing slightly modified versions of hafssol (yes, that song where the bassist uses a drumstick) and mílano at concerts lately. the changes of hafssol: 1) the part between the two verses is extended, 2) jonsi does a little background vocals in this part and 3) towards the very end, jonsi doesn’t hold the same chord while thrashing the guitar with his bow but actually changes chords (!). this song is, as you can read in the faq, a reworking of the song from 1997’s von and will probably be recorded soon in the álafoss studio, along with the reworking of von. these songs are likely to appear as b-sides on an ep which is planned for release early next year. you can download a bootleg of this new version of hafssol from the recent concert in new york city here (8:39 mins / 10.0 mb).

e; is, on the other hand, a new song (debuted in mid 2001) which has taken on the following changes: 1) the song is much more vibrant and alive now 2) the song has a more developed structure, now with two crescendos instead of one, 3) the vocals are different and 4) a nice groovy bassline has been added. you can download a clip of this new version of mílano (from the same bootleg) here (2:00 mins / 2.2 mb).
