kronos performance

the kronos string quartet performed arrangements by stephen prutsman of two sigur rós songs last tuesday in eykjavík, as part of the reykjavík arts festival. apparently there had been a misunderstanding with the song titles, so they didn’t play starálfur and ný batterí as had been previously announced, but flugufrelsarinn and svefn-g-englar. the arrangements were somewhat disappointing, lacking creativity and basically failing to recreate the songs in an interesting way. anyway, you can judge for yourself and listen to a bootleg recording of the performance:
