we’ve just come across a very rare bootleg of a concert at gaukur á stöng in spring 1999, before the release of ágætis byrjun, which to our knowledge was the first gig in which new drummer orri played. they played an interesting set, including a song they’ve never played besides at this gig, which jónsi calls “the christmas song”. they also played a version of von without strings and a considerably faster and more upbeat tempo, and the rarely played dánarfregnir og jarðarfarir. you can download all of these songs by clicking on the links below:
