I’ve been listening to Sigur Rós for more than a decade, and I still don’t really have the vocabulary to explain what their music does to me. It has been part of my life for so long that it feels tied to different versions of myself, including some of the more difficult ones. Their music has shaped me in ways I probably won’t ever be able to fully articulate.

The last time I saw them live was in Glasgow a few years ago, and afterwards I told myself that next time, I’d get closer to the stage so that I can be fully immersed in the experience. This time, I did. It was a 32nd birthday gift to myself. I wanted to experience Jónsi’s presence from as close as possible, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

His voice is one of those things that simply doesn’t lose its impact in a live setting. Combined with the lights and the way they flickered with the music, the whole performance felt completely immersive. Looking around at the people beside me, seeing the happiness, the tears, and knowing we were all having our own version of the same experience, made it even more special.

Sigur Rós have such a particular way of making everything else feel temporarily insignificant. Every time I see them live, I feel lighter somehow, as though a piece of me has drifted upwards and disappeared into the atmosphere.

It was an emotionally intense night, but not in a dramatic way. Just one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after you left the venue.

After more than a decade of listening to them, I still can’t properly explain what Sigur Rós’ music does to me. Maybe I never will. I just know how it feels to be there.

I saw them 3 times before, and every time is completely unique and mesmerising. Beautiful show!

This was my 4th time seeing the band perform live and it was absolutely breathtaking! Accompanied by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, their beautiful sounds were enhanced and brought to whole new levels.

The set list took the audience through an incredible journey of the their back catalogue, touching on songs that i hadn’t listened to in a while. It brought back cherished memories of listening to the band with my father years ago.

It was hard to pick out a favourite moment in such an epic collection of songs. But if I had to, untitled #3 stood out above the pack.

What a fantastic night. A truly outstanding performance.

This was my first time seeing the band having them on my must see list for sometime. Its difficult to put into words just how special this was. Music can of course be very emotional but having been to many gigs over the years I simply cannot explain the way the music and fantastic orchestra made me feel. Thankfully I get to experience it all over again in Glasgow!

This is the worst case of the Empero’s new clothes we’ve ever come across. We first saw Sigur Ros in 1999, and have seen them nearly 10 times over the years. Almost always magical and unforgettable occasions. Tonight however nothing could overshadow the fact that poor Jonsi, for whatever reason, simply could not sing. He left the stage twice mid song, abandonning his vocals, gave up half way through two other songs, missed lengthy passages of vocal on at least half a dozen other songs, failed to find his falsetto throughout the evening, and hid behind the majesty of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Yet no one seemed to notice. Two standing ovations, and a five star review in The Scotsman.
