Ara Batur has been played the last 2 nights in Amsterdam but not the first night I attended 🙁
It was the 7th concert of Sigur Rós I have seen since the first time, twenty years ago in 013 Tilburg (Takk-tour with Amina) and once again it was absolutely sublime.
The band can still amaze and move me as it did in 2005 and has lost none of its mastery. After taking my son to almost all gigs from when he was 15 years old, this time it was he who took me to this concert as a present for my 65th birthday. It could not have been more magical!
And I got the setlist, which was a great extra present.
It was the best concert I’ve ever attended, an experience unlike any other.
I’ve been a fan for a long time, having had the chance to attend their concerts in Mexico and London, but this one was truly epic.
Final night was Super.
The Carre is a perfect venue for Sigur Ros…it was intimate and the sound was phenomenal.
What an out-of-this-world experience. From the very first note, it felt like time stopped. Every song had its perfect place — flowing seamlessly, each one lifting the spirit higher. The string arrangements by the Noordpool Orkest didn’t just complement Sigur Rós; they transformed the music into something celestial.
The orchestra’s depth added new dimensions to songs I thought I already knew — every swell, every silence felt alive. Jónsi’s voice soaring above those strings created moments that felt beyond music — something pure, emotional, and almost spiritual.
It wasn’t just a concert; it was a journey through sound and feeling. Truly unforgettable.
It was an incredible Sigur Rós concert in Amsterdam. The orchestral setting made it feel intimate and personal; a very different atmosphere from their grand show at AFAS three years ago. For two hours, we were completely transported into another world. The only downside was that, from the center seats downstairs, Jónsi was barely visible because the conductor stood right in front of him, blocking the view of his face and expressions.
I closed my eye’s, while listening to the magical creatures, making sounds where i could drift away in peacefull bliss.
This was an amazing night, i loved every part of. Thank you for being here with us.
My first time seeing sigur ros live. Im not a people person but i made an exception for this tour. I had a wonderful night and forgot about life outside of carre for a while. The set list was fitting and beautiful. Unfortunately carre didnt get the sound right in the upper balconies. When drums came in it drowned the strings sometimes completely. Sorry i mist ara batur because its one of my favorite songs ( i was there first night) but overall it was an otherworldly experience ill never forget. Thanks so much for all the music
