REVIEWS
Write a reviewN’ayant déjà pas les mots en Français, veuillez me pardonner si je n’utilise pas l’anglais pour tenter d’évoquer ce qu’il s’est passé hier soir…. En fait je pense qu’il n’y a pas de mots. Indescriptible. La beauté pure. Alors juste… Merci et bravo ! A très vite j’espère.
Dear Sigur Rós,
Takk innilega fyrir allt — my heart is so full. ❤️
Saw your first and last show in London, and vá… it felt like breathing light itself. ♥️♥️♥️
I am officially charged up now.
Vonandi sjáumst fljótlega. ✨
First Sigur Rós show for me! Incredible experience with the orchestra. See you soon.
Guys, you are absolutely incredible. Your music is powerful as it is to begin with, but playing it in such a venue, with the London Contemporary Orchestra and playing the pipes as well for the last few songs, it’s difficult to describe the range and strength of emotion. Thank you for putting on this tour and for choosing Royal Albert Hall for the London gigs. One for the ages.
Lucky enough to be at the opening show at the southbank, Reykjavik and Albert hall last night . Ara Batur was incredible, not sure I’ve ever felt or seen such emotion at the end a song performed live before. It’s these moments that make life all the more special. Thank you !
My third show of this incredible orchestral tour after seeing the first night at the Festival Hall in 2023 and one of the Reykjavik shows last December – this one was even more perfect than I expected it to be. Hearing Ara Batur live with the choir and organ was truly epic, and they both added a stunning new dynamic to Hoppipolla. Thank you to the LCO, the choir and of course Sigur Ros for this beautiful evening. Takk!
It was mesmeric! Uplifted. Everything was amazing but jonsi’s vocals was faultless. Loved the choristers and anna lapwood raised the roof!! Thank you so much!
First time seeing Sigur Rós, really enjoyed the show! Set was amazing! Tge view was great as well! Seats could be more comfortable & bigger.
Gents, thank you for creating such a beautiful experience. Both my wife and I were moved to tears during the performance – we’ve never had such an emotional reaction before last night. We both feel blessed to have experienced such an incredible performance.
Thank you so very much.
Tuesday night was a borderline religious experience. Having the hall organist play was electrifying. Bravo.
A phenomenal performance from Sigur Rós, the London Contemporary Orchestra and Anna Lapwood last night.
An unforgettable, life affirming moment and an utter privilege to be there. Ara Batur in particular was very, very special and simply the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard. Sublime.
Where do you start. Sigur Ros, I know they are excellent however here at The Albert Hall, they surpassed my expectations. I cried with sheer joy and love through the show, thinking I couldn’t cry anymore then Anna Lapwood starts up “The Voice of Jupiter ” alongside the Schola Cantorum of the Cardinal Vaughan school choir, that was it well and truly broken. This gig will stay with me forever.
My fourth time seeing Sigur Ros live, and it was mesmeric, hypnotic, ethereal and achingly beautiful as always! Came down from Edinburgh on the train in the middle of a storm, absolutely worth it. Please come back to Scotland next time, we love you here!
One wish I have though is that recording is prohibited, with an announcement pre-show. I don’t understand why folk feel the need to hold up their mobiles for entire songs and spoil the experience for those sitting behind. Just enjoy it in the moment and have respect for others who are also there to enjoy the show. I want to be immersed in Sigur Ros, not blinded and distracted by a screen!!!!
I was lucky enough to go to the first and last nights at RAH. Luckily coinciding with Anna Lapwood being on the organ.
Wow, what a lovely surprise that was. I’ve seen many shows now and quite a few of this orchestral run over the last two years. It never gets old and I’m now counting the days until, hopefully, another regular tour.
(Sadly, my photos are too big to post)
13th show beautiful as ever ara batur a lovely addition to the set and to see blodberg performed live was special also thankyou sigur ros for another unforgettable evening at a wonderful venue takk.
I’ve been a fan for 25 years now and I can’t believe how good these guys are. Their music is not from this world. The sounds resonate with something deep within my soul on a very profound level. It’s the sixth time I’ve seen them now and my second orchestral show, as I was privileged to see them in Reykjavik last year. To see Ara Batur live was like a dream for me and I couldn’t stop the tears. This song is so special to me as it was played at my wedding. It was mesmerising and just sublime. Thank you.
What can I say about the shows that hasn’t already been said by the countless reviews, not only on this site but from what seems like every major music publication that was lucky enough to attend the gigs? This is a tour that has given us the same setlist going on two years now, yet you’d be hard-pressed to find a single complaint, simply because this tour has given fans some of the greatest performances in this band’s entire history. I’ve said this before, and it bears repeating: this band finds a way to top whatever previous experience you’ve had with them and these four shows were no different.
Playing with them was the London Contemporary Orchestra, led by conductor Robert Ames. This is particularly special because these are the players who recorded the band’s eighth album, ÁTTA. Nothing was hinted at, but from the moment these shows were announced, you could just sense that this was going to be something special. Just the slightest tweak of the set list to include a song the band has never played live before was mind-blowing enough, but add the venue’s world-famous organ and the Cardinal Vaughan Schola Cantorum choir, and you’ve potentially got the greatest ensemble ever assembled for a SR gig.
This band is 31 years old. Their art is just as relevant today as it was when they began to change the world with their music. I feel the same today what I felt when I first saw them 23 years ago. That’s not normal. They’re not normal. They’re true masters of their craft. This is my review for all 4 nights at the Royal Albert Hall.
This is my third concert, wish I’ve had the opportunity to attend more and hopefully will have the chance to see them while I’m in their homeland.
Big fan for about 25 years, there is no band as Sigur ros, such talent, original, emotional music with beautiful lyrics .. very deep experience. Pure art.
Concert with orchestra in London was out of this world experience, enjoyed every second of it.
Thank you ❤️
I waited 20 years to see you guys! I have never experienced anything so beautiful in my life! Absolutely incredible.
